Meridian Home Start is a Community Benefit Society and fully independent of the Council. This new initiative, together with other initiatives such as the Council's own Local Authority New Build programme, represents a significant opportunity for the Royal Borough to achieve its objective of increasing the supply of affordable housing in the borough.
Over 40 years’ experience as a Non-Executive Director, Richard’s experience spans property, construction, house building and inner city regeneration. Richard's executive career includes 25 years of corporate sales and marketing expertise, brand knowledge and PR experience in the house building sector.
A Managing Director of Barratt Homes from 1983 until taking retirement in 2006, Richard has a subsequent Non-Executive portfolio which includes directorships of housing associations, an ALMO, a facilities management group, a house builder, a development corporation, a contractor/developer and, until recently, an NHS Trust.
A former Assistant Chief Executive of Royal Borough of Greenwich and member of the current Meridian Home Start board. Tony retired in June 2013 and has travelled extensively since, undertaking voluntary roles teaching English in both India and Thailand. Tony also actively participates in fundraising initiatives and is a trustee of the Southwark Pensioners Centre.
Educated at Oxford and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Tony was employed by Royal Greenwich from 1989, initially joining the Education department. This was preceded by fourteen years working for the Inner London Education Authority as a Teacher and an Administrator. Tony is the co-editor of a series of books on educational improvement, is Secretary of the Tema (Ghana) Foundation for Development, and is also Secretary of the Jam Factory Residents Association. He maintains his links with the Royal Borough as a season ticket holder at Charlton Athletic FC.
Bernadette has 38 years’ local authority experience, including Chief Executive and Director posts held in a number of London councils. Skilled in improvement planning, change management, regeneration, planning, housing, environmental services, frontline services and community engagement, she established her own interim management and consultancy company in 2002, and recently held the post of Interim Director of Regeneration for Metropolitan Housing Trust.
A member of the Editorial Panel of Inside Housing magazine, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and a member of the British Urban Regeneration Association, Bernadette has also previously acted as Chair.
Daniel holds several Board-level positions and is a Co-Founder and Director of Partnering Regeneration Development Ltd. (PRD).
With 18 years experience developing bespoke, partnered strategies and operational models for socioeconomic regeneration. Working with the public, private, voluntary & community sectors also directly with local communities.
Over the past six years, a significant part of Daniels' work has involved extensive engagement with the public sector and partners, to identify new strategic approaches that enable public bodies to realise their wider corporate objectives, within the constraints of the challenging economic climate.
